Looking for Colorado-made products for your stores inventory? Red Ass Gourmet Spice Co. is based southwest of Denver, in the Rocky Mountains. We are the ONLY dry rub mix with a mild blend of Ghost and Habanero peppers. We started with flavor first, then added a pleasurable heat at the end to enhance the experience. This also allows you to be in control of the gratification!
We sell our creations in specialty markets that highlight Colorado-made products. We are featured at events like the Big Chili Cook-off in Evergreen, and Conifer Mountain BBQ Challenge and Beer and Wine Tasting.
Here is our story: We created this original dry rub because we could not find a rub that would highlight the flavor of smoked meat followed by the palatable heat of peppers. We tried an unbounded plethora of combinations until we had the best rub blend possible. Alas, Red Ass Dry Rub was born. Armed with it peerless formulation, several of us got together and smoked or barbecued the seasons harvest a antelope, deer, elk, mountain lion and rainbow trout which really gave the meat a wonderful taste. It was especially good on the beef and pork our wives brought home from the grocery store. It is even great in dips and Bloody Marys.
Our neighbors and friends began supporting the idea to go big and start selling full time. In fact, the name of our company originated from my job as a Journeyman Lineman: when you drag your job, you turn in your Red Ass card! We are currently working on our latest creation, Lingering Heat Seasoning.
